Norman Solar Shades for a Vintage Boutique in Carrboro
Our clients in Carrboro owned a vintage clothing boutique which was housed in an old mill-styule warehouse. It had beautiful exposed brick walls and very tall windows. The windows let in a lot of natural light and added to the vibe the brand represented.
However, the constant UV exposure damaged the merchandise, and the glare was uncomfortable for the employees and customers.
They didn’t want to lose the openness that the natural light provided, but they needed to control the glare. We installed Norman Solar Shades in the storefront windows. We chose an opacity of five percent, which blocked the harmful UV rays but still allowed in diffused light.
We also suggested no top treatment and keeping the roller exposed. The store had a vintage vibe to it being in an old warehouse and this design complimented the look and feel of the store.
Solar shades are a more sustainable and cost-effective option than traditional window treatments such as drapes, which can be costly to maintain. Solar shades block excess light and heat from entering your store or home, reduce glare, and provide UV protection for your merchandise and décor. They’re durable and easy to clean, and they come in a wide range of colors, styles, and materials to match any interior design.
